GUWAHATI, Nov 23 - The opening day's play of the Assam-Maharashtra four-day Group A Ranji Trophy match was abandoned at the Maharashtra Cricket Association ground, Pune today.
The wicket was dampened by the overnight rain and as the track was not covered properly play could not be started.
Assam captain Gokul Sharma said that rain is on this evening also and if the wicket is not covered properly the second day's play may also be called off. However, during the day time the weather was conducive.
