MUSHALPUR, July 18 - Amar Baksa, a fortnightly newspaper in Assamese and Bodo languages, was released at the Baksa District Centre, Mushalpur, on Thursday by Editor of Asam Bani Dilip Chandan.

Speaking on the occasion, Dilip Chandan said that vernacular newspapers have great relevance in reflecting the local issues in detail which are sometimes not published in the established dailies due to lack of space. The masses get easy access to local newspapers for expressing their grievances.

Ansumwi Khungur Boro, EM of BTC, lit the ceremonial lamp at the event that was also attended by Baksa DC Bhaskarjyoti Pegu. Ramesh Chandra Das, managing editor of Amar Baksa, and Rajani Borgoyari, chief editor of the newspaper, among others attended the programme.
