Assam-Tripura Ranji match ends in a draw

GUWAHATI, Feb 15 - Assam managed to play draw against Tripura in their last Ranji Trophy match of the season.

At the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here today, Assam finished their second innings at 180 for five requiring imposing 381 for an outright victory in the second innings on the final day.

Earlier, resuming at 76 for five, Tripura declared their second innings at 166 for seven and set a target of 381 for the host team. Milind Kumar and MB Murasingh were Tripura�s leading scorers with 69 and 48 respectively.

Chasing the huge target, Assam finished with 166 for five in the second innings. Riyan Parag top scored with 43 while skipper Gokul Sharma, Saahil Jain and Washiqur Rahman contributed 39, 31 and 28 respectively.

Assam finished the season at eighth position gathering 15 points from nine outings while Tripura managed to save the relegation standing at the ninth position. They have collected 9 points.

Jammu and Kashmir topped the Elite Group C with 39 points while bottom placed Uttarakhand have to face relegation.
