Assam go down to J&K

GUWAHATI, Nov 8 � Some irresponsible batting led Assam to a 120 run defeat in the hands of Jammu & Kashmir in the 4-day U-22 CK Nayudu Trophy at Goalpara today.

Resuming at the overnight score of 119 for 1, Assam could add only 124 runs before they were bundled out by J&K. Pallab Das, who was not out 57 yesterday, failed to get his century as he was out for 95. Arvinder Singh (40) and Roshan Basfore (50) were the other notable contributors for Assam with the bat.

For J&K, Manik Gupta was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5 for 64. Sahil Sarma got 2 wickets for 17 runs.
