GUWAHATI, Jan 28 � Both Assam and Andhra Pradesh will play their seventh match in this season�s Ranji Trophy Group C at the Barsapara stadium here from tomorrow. Assam is leading the table with 28 points from six outings while Andhra Pradesh is at third place with 22 points.
A tough contest is on the cards as top two teams from Group C will qualify for the knock-out quarterfinal stage. Led by former international Md Kaif, the visiting team is raring to go for maximum points in order to qualify for the next round. On the other hand, two drawn matches, both to be played at home ground, may help Assam to make it to the quarters. With some terrific bowling form, shown by offie Sarupam Purkayastha, 29 wickets so far from four matches, Assam will certainly look for another match winning performance.
