Ashim Sharma�s drama selected for int�l fest

DIBRUGARH, Jan 3 � National School of Drama, New Delhi has invited Akahra Ghar Natya Prasikshan Kendra of the city to stage their popular drama Sup Ek Prahashan during the Bharat Rang Mahotsav in the country�s capital.

The popular drama, written and directed by local dramatist Ashim Sharma was earlier staged in Bangalore and the same has been enacted about fifteen times in different parts of the country. The drama is basically a depiction of exploitation and suppression of the common man by the administration. Sattriya culture also finds special importance in the drama.

Poland, Norway, Bangladesh and few more countries will be taking part in the drama festival, Ashim Sharma said during a press conference at Dibrugarh Press Club here today.

Poet, writer and medical practitioner, Dr Pranay Phukan who happens to be the president of Akhara Ghar Natya Prasikshan Kendra, also addressed the media.
