ASEB storm into final

MANGALDAI, Jan 6 - Former champions ASEB, Sports Club cruised into the final of the 40th Amba Medhi Invitational Prize-money Football Tournament crushing Assam Police Radio Organisation (APRO) by a big margin of 7-1 here on Monday.

In the one-sided first semifinal played at the Mangaldai Vidyapith playground ASEB boys dominated the proceeding from the kick off and scored at regular intervals. The highlight of the match was the three goals struck by Jwmbla Brahma. Jwmbla struck in the 46th, 60th and 72nd minute respectively. Mridul Ali (52nd minute) and Calvin Banlal Deka (81st minute) were the other scorers for ASEB in the second half. Earlier Akrang Narzary opened the account for the winners in 6th minute and in the 33rd minute Vishal Soner increased the margin. Nitul Barman scored the consolation goal for APRO in the 64th minute.
