ASCPCR member to visit Cachar

SILCHAR, Aug 12 - In the backdrop of abduction and subsequent killing of a five-month-old infant in Cachar district, Ajay Kumar Dutta, Member of Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR), will be on a visit to Silchar on Thursday.

According to a release issued to the media on Wednesday, Dutta, on reaching Silchar, will visit Kajidahar in Sonai constituency where the five-month-old infant was kidnapped and later killed by miscreants earlier this month.

Meanwhile, the release stated that Cachar police have managed to arrest the perpetrator of the crime and two others in this connection. Sources in the administration informed that Dutta will visit the village and meet the bereaved family members.

Dutta is also slated to meet the DIG, Southern Range, Dilip Kumar Dey; Superintendent of Police, Bhanwar Lal Meena, and Additional SP during his visit .

Further, the ASCPCR member will also hold a meeting with additional deputy commissioner, social welfare, DSWO and DCPO at the circuit house, the release said.
