ITANAGAR, July 4 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (retd) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have extended greetings to every citizen of the State on the occasion of Dree, the annual agriculture-based festival of the Apatani community.
In his message, the Governor said that the Dree festival is the traditional identity of the Apatani tribe. Celebration of indigenous festivals helps preservation, development and transition of ancestral values and ethnic identity, he added.
In his message, Chief Minister Khandu appreciated the Apatani community for safeguarding and promoting their rich culture and tradition and passing it on to the younger generations.
