MANGALDAI, Sept 27 - Udalguri football team defeated Tamulpur 5-3 while Baska inflicted defeat on Salbari 2-0 in two matches of the inaugural day of the Army�BTC Goodwill Football Tournament at the Dimakuchi Stadium along the Indo-Bhutan border today. The inaugural matches were witnessed by large number of civil and army personnel amidst cheering of supporters from all the teams. Teams from all the four districts under BTAD are participating in the meet which has been organised jointly by the Army Camp Chapai, Mangaldai and BTC, Authority for the first time. The tournament had a grand beginning as many civil as well as military dignitaries attended the opening ceremony. The organisers expect that this football tournament will offer a platform to the youths of BTAD to showcase their enormous sporting talents and inspire them to pursue sports.
