GUWAHATI, Oct 6 - The Assam Real Estate and Infrastructure Developers Association (AREIDA) has hailed the decision of the State Government to treat the issue of sale permission of vacant land and apartment buildings separately.

It needs mention here that at a representative-level meeting held by Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue, Subhas Chandra Das recently with the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro), representatives of the Guwahati Development Department, Dispur Circle Office, Guwahati Municipal Corporation and Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority and AREIDA, it was decided to segregate the applications for sale permission of vacant land and apartment buildings.

The meeting also decided that the sellers of apartments would submit their applications at one time with relevant documents and details of all the flat buyers. Such applications will be sent to the Circle Offices for their report only once.

A master file will be created and all subsequent permissions for sale to buyers, whose particulars have already been submitted, will be granted on the basis of the report in the master file.

Besides, the GMDA permission, wherever required, will also be a single permission for the entire plot of land being sold, said the meeting in its decision.

AREIDA president PK Sarma, who has been advocating for such a system for quite a long time, has lauded this initiative of the State Government, describing it as a pro-people move.
