GUWAHATI, Oct 5 - The Kamrup Metro district administration has directed the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) to conduct a physical verification and survey of security and safety of old electrical poles in and around Guwahati and to take protective and precautionary measures within one month for ensuring safety of citizens.
The order was issued today by the Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu.
The APDCL has also been directed to submit a compliance report after verification, survey and adoption of the protective measures, said an official statement.
The district administration�s directive has come a day after two electrical poles fell down on the road near the Sukreshwar Mandir on October 3.
