Ralegan Siddhi, Dec 31 (IANS): The core committee meeting of Team Anna scheduled here for Jan 2-3 has been postponed following the ill-health of Anna Hazare, his aide said on Saturday.

"Anna's fever has come down, but his blood pressure is not normal and he is feeling weak. We were advised that he should not talk much and hence we have postponed the meeting," Hazare's close associate Allaudin Sheikh told IANS here. The fresh dates of the meeting will be announced later.

Team Anna was to meet at Hazare's native village Ralegan Siddhi in Parner Taluka of Ahmednagar district, around 350 km from Mumbai, to discuss the future strategy on Jan Lokpal and campaigning in the five poll-bound states.

"I had examined Anna last (Friday) night and found that his fever has come down. But he is still suffering from backache and is overall very weak to participate in the meeting and hence has been advised rest for a few days," Hazare's doctor DG Pote told IANS. "The meeting has been postponed only as a precautionary measure," he added.

Hazare on Wednesday called off his three-day fast for a strong Lokpal on the second day itself due to his poor health. "He is not well and needs rest. When he will be fine, the meeting will take place," Team Member Kiran Bedi told reporters in New Delhi.
