Update: 2010-09-15 00:00 GMT

GOLAGHAT, July 22 - The Golaghat district administration has started the process of inoculating animals in the flood-hit areas of Khumtai constituency.

It may be mentioned that the flood scenario in the district has worsened in the last few days affecting crops and animals.

The unhygienic atmosphere has led to diseases, triggered by the lack of proper and sufficient medical facilities. Recently vaccination of animals in the affected areas has started in order to check the loss of animal lives.

We have started vaccinating the animals, said MLA Mrinal Saikia on Wednesday. Vaccination for the people of the affected areas, will begin as soon as the flood water dries up, he added.
