AGARTALA, Dec 28 - BJP national president Amit Shah would be arriving here on January 5 to check the partys preparedness for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May next year.
During the visit, Shah would address a conference of Pristha Pramukhs, considered the saffron partys organisational backbone, at Vivekananda Ground.
There would be no public rally as Shahs visit would be purely organisational matter and only Pristha Pramukhs would join the conference apart from the partys state-level leaders.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who is also the BJP state president, held an emergency meeting at the party headquarters last night to prepare the ground for the Pristha Pramukhs conference.
The party has engaged 700-1,000 Pristha Pramukhs for each Assembly constituency to reach out to the people. BJP sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to visit the State in the later part of January to kickstart the partys campaign for the 2019 general elections.
