American tourist asked to leave Sikkim

GANGTOK, July 7 � An American tourist has been asked to leave the State for over-staying here on a tourist visa by five years.

The American lady tourist was staying in Sikkim for the past five years on a tourist visa and was even working in the capital here in two private schools, apart from being associated as a devotee of an ashram.

For foreigner�s visiting the State, obtaining Inner Line Permit (ILP) along with proper visa indicating objective of visit are mandatory.

Police are vigourously keeping a tab on foreigners visiting the State after this incident. Sources said that based on a tip off by the SIB, action was initiated against the lady and she was asked to leave Sikkim.
