MANGALDAI, Sept 14 - The 38th edition of the Amba Medhi Memorial Football Tournament, organised by the Mangaldai Sports Association got underway at the Mangaldai Stadium here today.
In the inaugural match, Assam Police Radio Organisation (APRO), Guwahati rallied to beat Harisinga Sports Association 3-1.
The Harisinga boys were leading 1-0 till the break through the goal netted by Soumkhun Swargiary.
But the complexion of the match took a dramatic turn as the cops struck thrice through Rishi Konwar, Bitopan Kalita and Amar Nath.
Earlier, ADC, Darrang, Hari Narayan Bora formally inaugurated the tournament in the presence of SP Darrang Sreejith T and president of the Mangaldai Sports Association Basanta Das, among others.
On Friday Dhopdhara Football Club will take on Kehutoli Bangri Club.
