Altaf Mazid�s films for Thrissur fest

GUWAHATI, Feb 18 � Five films of Assamese film critic-turned-filmmaker Altaf Muzid are being screened in the retrospective section of the 10th Vibgyor International Film Festival being held at Thrissur, Kerala from February 16 to 21.

According to a press release, the films include the 39-minute-long Lakhtokiat Golam, the 12-minute-long Las Vegasat Barakhun, the 12-minute-long Kunir Kutil Dosha, the 90-minute-long Boliya Pitaier Sohoki Sootal and the 30-minute-long Rahashyar Bitchaku.

Vibgyor International Film Festival is the largest alternative film festival in South Asia. It is organized by ViBGYOR Film Collective, a registered cultural society, formed by and supported by film societies, media institutions and activist groups. The festival showcases issue- based documentary films along with short fiction, animations, experimental films and music videos.

Around 125 films from more than 25 countries are scheduled for this year�s festival. The festival has a provision of screening films of two filmmakers in its retrospective section every year.

They include a collection of works by one international and one national filmmaker. This year they are Fauzia Khan from Bangladesh and Altaf Mazid from Assam, the release added.
