All Meghalaya households covered under PMJDY

SHILLONG, Jan 31 � All households in Meghalaya have been successfully covered under the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) scheme.

�All 11 districts comprising of 5,53,279 households have been covered under the PMJDY scheme launched in August last year,� Chief Secretary PBO Wajri said while addressing a State-level Bankers� Committee meeting held here yesterday.

Till January 21, 1,34,373 new accounts were opened and 1,16,366 �Rupay Cards� were issued under the scheme, he said.

He, however, expressed concern at the deteriorating credit-deposit ratio and slow progress in granting PMEGP loans and advocated the need for more financial literacy camps by all banks. � PTI
