Akhil party B team of Cong, says BJP

GUWAHATI, March 29 - The BJP, Assam Pradesh today described KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi and the political party floated by him as a secret ally of the Congress. It also accused the party of Akhil Gogoi of working as a B team of the Congress.

Senior BJP leaders also accused the Congress of resorting to money and muscle power to influence the electorate of the State. Addressing mediapersons here, BJP Minority Morcha president Mominul Aowal said the Congress and Akhil Gogoi are working hand in hand and that this tacit understanding between the two has become obvious to the people of Assam.

State BJP spokesperson Rupam Goswami said the Congress is trying to manipulate the voters and resorting to different methods, including use of money and muscle power. �Since the writing on the wall has become clear now, the Congress has taken recourse to its manipulative methods to influence the voters,� accused Goswami.

State BJP spokesperson Bijon Mahajan accused the Congress of hurting the religious sentiments of the people belonging to a particular religious sect. He said the Congress has stooped so low as to deliberately target and hurt the sentiments of a particular cult members who touch the feet of seniors out of respect and their faith that human beings are part of God.

Today on the same issue, an FIR was lodged by a BJP media cell member at Bhangagarh Police Station alleging that a Congress hoarding has outraged religious feelings of a particular group, Mahajan said. Earlier, a complaint was lodged with the Election Commission stating the hoarding in question is displayed contrary to the model code of conduct and also amounts to breach of Section 153A and Sec 295 A of the IPC, besides Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
