GUWAHATI, March 14 � The Gauhati High Court today deferred the bail petition hearing of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity president Akhil Gogoi till March 19 after prosecution sought additional time to go through the case diary in its entirety.
The public prosecutor sought time stating that the case dairy, which is a voluminous one, has not been gone through in entirety and important contents have not been marked.
Advocates Bijon Mahajan and Shantanu Barthakur appeared for the accused while Ziaur Kamar was the public prosecutor.
Moreover, the Court of the Justice PK Das also refused bail to Kamal Medhi, general secretary, KMSS, following stiff opposition from the prosecution.
Dharjya Konwar, publicity secretary, KMSS, however was granted interim bail till July 19 while the interim bail of Amarjyoti Bezbaruah was made absolute by the Court.
