GUWAHATI, March 3 - The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has termed the General Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday a disappointment for Assam and the NE States.
�The Budget has brought no hopes for the middle class. The schemes announced will not help the common man. Tax burden on the middle class will increase further as no relief has been provided in the Budget,� AIUDF president and Lok Sabha member Badruddin Ajmal said. He added that social schemes have been eroded further in the Budget.
�There is nothing special for the North East in the Budget. There is no mention of the flood and erosion problem of Assam and nothing also for the minorities. There is no plan for employment generation,� Ajmal said. He added that the Budget proposals would only benefit the elite sections.
