AIR, Dibrugarh fully digitalised

DERGAON, Feb 23 - The All India Radio (AIR), Dibrugarh station has been fully digitalised and it has nearly one crore listeners.To cover more listeners, the AIR, Dibrugarh has taken a slew of initiatives.

The station is now broadcasting various programmes through Amplitude Modulation (AM), Frequency Modulation (FM), Radio Online Streaming on YouTube and Digital Radio Mondiale.The Head of Programmes (HOP) of AIR, Dibrugarh Lohit Deka told The Assam Tribune that the station has adopted all the four possible measures, including social media to attract the listeners.

�We have made our all programmes live and liked to the masses,� he said.

�Due to rapid development in Information Technology, the radio transmission has also been switch on to digital. And, that is why we have made our station fully digital to make available our programmes through digital communication system ,� Deka said.

The Assistant Director and Head of News Section, Devojit Kataky said that the news bulletins have been widely accepted by the people. �We are focussing more on positive news items,� he claimed.
