Ailing jumbo found near Rani reserve forest

JALUKBARI, May 1 - An ailing three-year-old male elephant was found near a stream at Satargaon, Rani Reserve Forest, toady.

Rani Range Officer Monoranjan Barman, while talking to this correspondent, said that after the elephant was spotted lying in a stream, a government veterinarian was called in and the jumbo was given treatment. �But the animal was unable to stand up. We are providing all possible treatments but it is not fit to go back to the forest.

At present, the jumbo is under treatment and seven forest officials are looking after it,� Barman said.
