Aid to kin of cancer patients

GUWAHATI, March 2 - Ajmal Foundation, one of the three flagship NGOs of Ajmal CSR, is going to set up a cancer care foundation for Assam. This was stated by Badruddin Ajmal, Member of Parliament and CEO, Ajmal CSR, while distributing cheques to the family members of two cancer patients here today.

Nayan Jyoti Baruah, who works as a constable in�Assam Police and who has exhausted all his savings for the treatment of his father, Nareswar Baruah, a cancer patient admitted at the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital in Mumbai for a long time, and Jitendra Nath Sarma who works at a private school in Baihata Chariali were handed over cheques worth Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively.

Speaking to media personnel present on the occasion, Badruddin Ajmal said, �We are going to launch the Ajmal Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) soon in Guwahati to provide necessary help to cancer patients of Assam and create cancer awareness among the masses. Those cancer patients, who are financially weak and need treatment outside the State, will be given financial support for the purpose. The details of the project will be announced soon.�
