AGSU stages stir against price rise

GUWAHATI, Nov 3 - Members of the All Guwahati Students� Union (AGSU) and its several branches today staged a massive protest near the Judges� Field in Guwahati over the State government�s failure to control the price rise of almost all the essential commodities.

Rapping the government for sitting idle over the plight of the common people, the protesters shouted slogans against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury.

Three protesters, posing as the three ministers, displayed placards, pinpointing the failures and helplessness of the respective ministers in controlling price rise. The protesters also sported garlands of onions, potatoes, etc, as a symbol of protest.
