JORABAT, Nov 9 - People of the Bihari community, including the Jorabat Chhath Seva Samiti, have appealed to the government to issue an advisory and SOPs on Chhath similar to the ones it had issued for Durga Puja to ensure social distancing and prevent pollution.

The appeal that the administration made for social distancing during Durga Puja was laudable. We urge the government to issue a similar appeal on the occasion of Chhath Puja and issue SOPs for the same, respecting the faith and fervour of the Chhath believers, said Rajinder Rai, president of the Jorabat Chhath Seva Samiti.

As per sources, Chhath believers here are tense over the fate of Chhath Puja in the State this time, while many have flown to their native state Bihar.
