DIBRUGARH, Aug 19 - Without mentioning figures, the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) on Thursday sent out a letter to the planters associations, asking for payment of maximum bonus.

The appeal, made out to ABITA, Assam Tea Planters Association (ATPA), Tea Association of India (TAI), Bharatiya Cha Parishad (BCP) and North Eastern Tea Association (NETA), asked the tea garden owners to pay maximum bonus to the labourers, to meet the hopes and aspirations of the workers.

The ACMS letter, dated August 8, was signed by its secretary Dileswar Tanti. He said he hopes that this year too, the tea workers bonus payouts would be peaceful. Last years bonus payments were mostly incident free, causing a huge sigh of relief to the ACMS.
