GUWAHATI, Sept 27 - Assam Governor PB Acharya has expressed his deep shock at the sudden demise of the Governor of Manipur, Dr Sayed Ahmed.
In a statement, the Governor said that Dr Ahmed was a nationalist socialist leader and a deeply devout man with a liberal outlook. He added that he had excellent personal contacts with the departed Governor and had visited him at Manipur Raj Bhavan a few months back with his family.
Acharya also said that Dr Ahmed was a great scholar and had authored several Urdu books of literary and historical relevance.
The Governor also conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
