TURA, Feb 6 � Iqbal Rafique, abducted assistant lecturer of Christian Girls Higher Secondary School was released yesterday. He was kidnapped from near his house in Mankachar on Sunday last and reportedly brought to Tura, where he was allegedly kept near the TV tower area by his abductors.
A former member of the now disbanded ANVC (B) Silgrak Marak was arrested two days back in the kidnapping of the teacher. He had driven the autorickshaw, in which Iqbal was taken, to the point of exchange of money near Nehru Park area in the outskirts of Tura. Another two who were in the auto managed to escape.
