GUWAHATI, Aug 1 - The AASU today strongly protested against the transfer of Assam land to Bangladesh by immersing copies of the Indo-Bangla land deal in the river.

AASU units across the State took part in the protest, asserting that Assams interest was compromised in the deal.

In a statement, AASU president Dipanka Kumar Nath and general secretary Lorin Jyoti Gogoi said the people of Assam were not taken into confidence when the pact was signed, which was a clear indication of betrayal of Assam by the then Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
