GUWAHATI, Feb 7 - Alleging that the Centre is patronising the illegal Bangladeshi migrants through the amended Citizenship Act, the AASU, its 30 allied organisations, AJYCP and the artiste community opposing the Act will take out a torchlight procession on February 8 throughout the State.

On the day when Prime Minister Modi sought to assuage the concerns of the people of Assam over the CAA while addressing a rally in Kokrajhar, AASU and other bodies opposing the CAA asserted that the Act that violated the Assam Accord is an anti-indigenous legislation imposed on Assam against the wishes of its people.

Our democratic and disciplined movement against the Act will continue, added the student body.

AASU leaders Dipanka Kumar Nath, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, AJYCP leaders Rana Pratap Barua, Palash Changmai and representatives of other organisations appealed to the people of Assam to join tomorrows procession.

In Guwahati, the procession will start tomorrow evening from Swahid Nyas Bhavan, Uzanbazar.
