UDALGURI, Dec 28 - The Udalguri district committee of the All Assam Gorkha Students� Union (AAGSU) observed the 69th foundation day of the Gorkha community of the State here on the AAGSU office premises recently.
The programme got under way with the AAGSU flag hoisting by Rohit Kumar Dahal, president of the district students� organisation followed by floral tribute to the martyrs by its general secretary Purna Kirati Rai.
Later, a general meeting was held on the office premises where the burning topics of the State, including the problems of NRC, D voters, flood and erosion, unemployment problem, insurgency problem and the forthcoming Assembly elections were discussed.
The foundation day ended with the lighting of earthen lamps on the AAGSU office premises.
