72 pc voting in Arunachal bye-poll

ITANAGAR, Feb 13 � Around 72 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the bye-election to the Liromoba Assembly Constituency in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh till 3 pm today to decide the fate of five candidates in fray.

�An estimated 72 per cent electorate out of total of 11,640 voters in the constituency cast their ballot till 3 pm.� As of now, the final figures are yet to come as polling teams from interior areas have started pulling back,� Deputy Chief Electoral Officer DJ Bhattacharjee informed.

The polling, which started at 7 am in 54 poling stations, ended at 5 pm today on a peaceful note without any untoward incident from any part of the constituency, the Dy CEO said.

Counting of votes will take place on February 16 next.
