7 teachers honoured in Manipur

IMPHAL, Sept 5 - Seven teachers were honoured during Teacher�s Day celebrations here on Saturday. Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam attended the official function to celebrate the Day.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has no intention to hurt the interest of the hill people while passing the Bills in the State Assembly recently.

�Let�s sit together and check whether the Bill affects the interest of the hill people or not�, said the Chief Minister. �It could be rectified or withdrawn, if necessary. It can be amended even after the Governor approves the Bills, he added.

The function was jointly organised by the Department of Education (Schools), State Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Society, State Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) Society and others.
