GUWAHATI, July 2 � Police today arrested seven special police officers while they were staging demonstration in front of the State Secretariat today. The arrested SPOs are Kalyan Jyoti Baruah, Hemen Borah, Shyambabu Sinha, Pinak Pani Roy, Ramhlulian Hmar, Sanjeeb Gohain and Biju Dutta. The arrests were made based on an FIR lodged by Sub-Inspector Sonit Saikia of Dispur police station and subsequently a case (1301/15) under Section 341/353/325/34 was registered. The SPOs have been demanding job security from the State Government.
