7 killed in Manipur mishap

IMPHAL, March 25 � Seven labourers of the Border Road Task Force (BRTF) including a woman were killed while some others were injured when their vehicle overturned in Manipur�s Chandel district on Monday, reports said.

The labourers, engaged in construction of a border road near Moreh, were travelling to their workplace near Govajang village, near Moreh, when the driver lost control and the vehicle which was loaded with more than two dozen labourers, overturned, the report added.

The injured were taken first to nearby Moreh hospital and then shifted to RIMS hospital in Imphal. The killed persons were brought here for autopsy.

Three deceased persons have been identified as Nokul (Assam), B Kipgen (Manipur), Tulshi Devi ( Jharkhand).
