6 NSCN men killed in factional feud

DIMAPUR, Dec 17 � Six cadres belonging to NSCN (K) and NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) were killed in separate incidents in Kiphire and Phek districts of Nagaland on Sunday.

Sources said the incident in Kiphire occurred when the NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) cadres launched an attack on the NSCN-K cadres at Nitoi village under Kiphire district. Two NSCN-K cadres were killed in the incident.

In what seemed to be a retaliatory attack, NSCN-K cadres of Mobile 5 unit killed four NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) cadres in Meluri unde Phek district the same day. Sources said the slain NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) members included �major� Isur, his attendant and two others.

Meanwhile, NSCN-K chairman SS Khaplang has asked his boys to refrain from attacking the rival groups from December 20, 2012 to January 20, 2013 so as to enable the Nagas to spend this festive season peacefully. However, Khaplang asked his boys to remain alert so as to thwart any attack from the rivals.

The NSCN-K chairman said this while extending his Christmas and New Year greetings on behalf of his outfit today.

He directed that no cadres from the NSCN-K should launch any offensive activity but to be alert always. He said unless they are attacked upon, his cadres should not launch any attack on rivals.
