5 from Pathsala private schools secure ranks

PATACHARKUCHI, June 2 � Altogether five students from various private schools of Pathsala brought glory to the town by bagging five ranks among the top ten, including the topmost rank secured by Ripunjoy Kalita of Gilbert English Medium School, in the HSLC examination, 2015, results of which were declared today.

Today�s result once again established that Pathsala, the main town of Bajali subdivision is an excellent centre of education besides being a reputed cultural centre. Ripunjoy Kalita, son of Alaka Kalita and Anil Chandra Kalita, residents of Lachit Nagar, Pathsala scored 587 out of 600 with 97.83 per cent marks. His marks are : English � 99, General Maths � 100, General Science � 94, Social Studies � 98, Assamese � 97, Advance Maths � 99. As soon as the results were declared, the residence of Ripunjoy was thronged by well-wishers and teachers.

Ripunjoy�s father, by profession a junior engineer in the Public Health Engineering Department, Govt of Assam and his mother, a housewife, expressed happiness and informed this correspondent that both of them cared and inspired him equally to achieve success. Ripunjoy expressed happiness and said that he expected a position but didn�t expect the topmost position. He regularly studied for 6 to 7 hours ahead of the examination. He likes making science models, especially automobile-related ones besides watching Discovery Channel, reading magazines and other books.

He said with pride that he was born on June 5, the World Environment Day, and his aim is to be an automobile engineer. He had earlier showed brilliant performances in national talent search examination securing the top position. Rajib Kumar Sarma, Academic Officer of the school informed that as a student Ripunjoy is brilliant and he insists on clearing concepts of every subject.

Gilbert English Medium School is completing 25 years this year. Out of 28 examinees this year, six got distinctions, 10 received star marks, six first divisions and six have been placed in second division, informed Principal Robin Sarma.

Ripunjoy has already taken admission in the Sai Vikash Junior College, Silpukhuri, Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Darshana Talukdar, a resident of Jyoti Nagar, Pathsala bagged the 9th position and Darshanjyoti Talukdar of Puthimari bagged the 10th position from Anundoram Borooah Academy High School.

Darshana, daughter of Kshitish Talukdar and Swapnali Khataniar of Jyoti Nagar, got 578 marks out of 600. Her percentage is 96.33 and marks are : Assamese � 97, English � 90, General Maths � 100, General Science � 95, Social Studies � 93, Advance Maths � 99.

Darshanjyoti Talukdar, son of Sidheswa Talukdar and Padmni Patgiri of Puthimari got 577 out of 600 with 96.16 percentage. His marks are � Assamese � 93, English � 96, General Maths � 100, Geneal Science � 97, Social Science � 93, Advance Maths � 100.

Both Darshana and Darshanjyoti want to be doctors in the future and they will pursue their further education in the same school.

Meanwhile, the jubilant students and staff of the school took out a procession in Pathsala town. Dr Ranjit Deka, rector- cum-principal of the institution expressed happiness and termed it a result of hard work of the teachers and good administration by the management of the institution.

It may be mentioned that in the HSSLC examination this year, three students of the same institution bagged ranks.
