TURA, June 11 � Three cadres of the United A'chik Liberation Army (UALA) were arrested late Tuesday evening from Chandmari here.
The arrest came on the day when a silent procession was also taken out here for peace in the Garo Hills region.
Speaking on the arrests, the West Garo Hills SP, Mukesh Singh said, �They were actively involved in extortion from public. Interrogation of the three is currently under process.�
The three arrested UALA cadres have been identified as Jeibin Sangma, 22, Suresh Sangma, 24 and Silrak Marak, 22.
The police team also recovered an amount of Rs 54,000 from their possession.
