24-hour strike called in Karbi Anglong

DIPHU, Feb 6�The Karbi Anglong State Demand Committee (KAASDCOM) and its fraternal organisations, KSA and KRA have called for a 24-hour Karbi Anglong �strike� beginning from 5am tomorrow.

The strike has been called to pressurise the Central and State Governments for granting autonomous Statehood comprising the hill districts of Assam.

It may be mentioned here that the KaaSdcom has been agititing for the last 27 years demanding fulfillment of its demand. Essential services have been exempted from the purview of the strike.
