NAGAON, May 14 - Around 20 people who were stranded in Delhi and other places outside the State arrived at their home town here in the wee hours on Thursday on a special train provided by the Central government.
Sources said all of them have been admitted immediately in Kandali Model Hospital for the time being and would be shifted to the special quarantine centres set up at various locations in the district.
However, sources said other 19 people from outside the State would reach Nagaon late on Thursday night and they would also be put under special quarantine.
Speaking to this correspondent here on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Jadav Saikia said those people who reached late night on Wednesday had been admitted in the isolation ward at Kandali Model Hospital and would be shifted soon.
Meanwhile, the district administration and district health services, have completed all preparations to deal with the COVID-19 positive patients in the old building of Nagaon Swahid Bhugeswari Phookonani Civil Hospital.
The old building of the hospital has been transformed into a complete COVID-19 hospital with all facilities, where altogether 150 patients could be accommodated.
