IMPHAL, March 17 � Two insurgents of banned People�s Liberation Army (PLA) were today killed in an encounter with security forces in Thoubal district of Manipur, official sources said.
Personnel belonging to the army rushed to interior Tolen area at around 4.30 am following reports of movement of insurgents. During search operation, the insurgents fired at the army personnel and in the ensuing encounter that lasted more than three hours, two PLA insurgents were killed, the sources said.
The security forces recovered two AK rifles, a gun, a pistol and some other weapons, they said. � PTI
