2 truck-loads of phensedyl seized

AGARTALA, July 18 - Two Bangladesh-bound trucks laden with phensedyl cough syrup, used by drug addicts, were seized at Moloynagar on the outskirts of the capital city, officials said.

Acting on a tip off, a contingent of BSF, Custom officials and State police intercepted two trucks and seized 65,700 bottles of phensedyl, worth about Rs 85 crore, from the vehicles on Wednesday night, Customs Superintendent Sandeep Das told reporters. The driver and helper of the trucks were absconding. � PTI
