GUWAHATI, March 31 Two police officers of Guwahati have been placed under suspension for negligence of duty.

City Police Commissioner Mukesh Agarwala said that on the night of March 29, the ACP of Jalukbari nabbed two thieves and handed them over to Jalukbari Outpost. But one of the thieves, Abdul Manan, managed to escape from the outpost on the same night.

Interestingly, the officer in-charge of the outpost sub-inspector Musaddik Hussain, neither reported the matter to the higher authorities nor made any effort to trace the thief. He has been placed under suspension on charges of dereliction and negligence of duty, said Agarwala.
