1.88 lakh people reach NE by 138 special trains

GUWAHATI, July 2 - Nearly 1.88 lakh people have arrived in the north-eastern states by 138 Shramik Special trains so far.

�One hundred and thirty-eight Shramik Special trains have already reached various north-eastern states with nearly 1.88 lakh stranded people,� said an official statement issued today by the Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).

In addition, 431 Shramik Special trains have arrived in the Katihar Division and 96 in the Alipurduar Division under NFR with stranded people of Bihar and North Bengal respectively.

Besides, 34 Shramik Special trains have originated in various stations under the jurisdiction of NFR to carry stranded people from these states to their native places in other parts of the country, the statement added.
