18 entrepreneurs selected for incubation, start-ups

JORHAT, March 6 - A boot camp titled Ideasprout 1.0 was organised by the North East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB) at Assam Agricultural University at Borbheta here recently.

A press note issued by NEATEHUB stated that over 100 applications were received from across the North East for attending the camp, out of which 75 were selected.

The camp started with an orientation session where the participants were briefed about the boot camp and later the participants were allotted some time to present their ideas to the expert panel.

After the two-day camp, 11 entrepreneurs were selected for idea stage (incubation) and another seven were selected in the start-up category.

In the idea stage, the 11 participants will be provided all necessary support by NEATEHUB to prepare their respective projects, while the seven participants selected for start-ups will go through an intensive business workshop.

Those selected for start-ups will also get access to expert mentors, physical co-working space, special dry and wet labs, product development and testing, market and industry linkages, seed funding, support in fundraising, access to investors, technology transfer, marketing support, and admin accounting and legal services.

NEATEHUB, which was established last year at the AAU campus, is the first of its kind in the North East, and among 28 such hubs established for agri-entrepreneurs across the country. The institute was established as a Section 8 non-profit company with funding from the NITI Aayog and the Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers� Welfare�s flagship scheme Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana-Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvination (RKVY-RAFTAAR).
