16 students bring accolades to Jorhat district

JORHAT, May 31 - Out of a total of 14,446 candidates who appeared in this year�s HSLC examination from Jorhat district, 10,354 passed the examination and 16 of the successful candidates occupied ranks among the top 20 positions.

Jorhat Inspector of Schools Abdul Razek said the district recorded 71.67 pass percentage in this year�s HSLC examination.

Anindita Nath of Pragjyotika Engish School of Titabor brought laurels to the district by securing the 4th position, while Tiranga Bikram Bora of Sri Ram Banamali HS School and Udayan Mahanta of Pragjyotika English School bagged the 10th position.

Three successful candidates of the district, namely Samudra Gupta Saikia and Prashurya Deka of Pragjyotika English School and Dipjyoti Dutta of Dipankar Vidyapith occupied the 11th position, while Abhiruchi Bora of Don Bosco High School of Baghcung, Jorhat and Debika Saikia of the Titabor-based Pargjyotika English School achieved 12th position in the examination.

Kritika Gogoi and Jahnavi Gogoi of Pragjyotika English School secured the 14th and 15th positions respectively, while Adit Saikia of Jyoti Vidyapith of Teok and Rituraj Bordoloi of Jalukanibari HS School got 18th position.

Parthana Bora of Jyoti Vidyapith and Swasati Buragohain of Pragjyotika English School secured the 19th position. Both Gaurav Lahon of Jonaki Sangha Vidyalaya and Priyush Bhuyan of Don Bosco High School, Baghchung got the 20th position in the examination.

The Jorhat Inspector of Schools said that 353 meritorious students of the district secured distinction and 3,147 secured first division. In all, 4,377 successful candidates passed the examination in the second division while 2,830 students passed in the third division.
