12 NDFB(S) ultras held in Chirang

BONGAIGAON, Jan 11 � Chirang district police have achieved a major success by nabbing 12 active NDFB(S) cadres with arms and ammunition from the northern forest of Chirang district under Amguri and Bijni police stations following a two-day joint operation, which had been carried out since January 8 as a part of �Operation All Out�, with CRPF and SSB.

The arrested cadres have been identified as media and publicity joint secretary Parmanesh Narzary (24), deputy commandant Swmkwr Basumatary(27), accountant Rahul Islary (31), platoon commander Jaleswar Basumatary (29), sergeant major Swarang Narzary (25), section commander Anan Brahma (26), corporal Josoa Muchahary (25), lance corporal Karan Muchahary (25), section commander Suraj Goyari (25), Nagen Boro (35), Kalaram Goyari (30) and Riten Basumatary (26).

The operation team recovered four AK 56 rifles, four 9 mm pistols, one 7.65-calibre pistol, one 303 rifle, one 315 rifle, three highly explosive grenades, one Chinese grenade and 784 bullets from the possession of the cadres.

IGP LR Bishnoi, addressing a press conference at the Chirang SP office, said that the operation would continue against NDFB(S).
