Youth thrashed for raising pro Pakistan slogan

JALUKBARI, Feb 19 - A mentally challenged youth was thrashed allegedly for shouting �Pakistan Zindabad� inside the Kamakhya Temple this morning.

According to police sources, the youth, who has been identified as Manoj Sinha (23), of Bhangagarh (TV tower), was thrashed by a group of people present on the temple premises for �promoting enmity and hurting the sentiments of the people.�

The youth had visited the temple premises yesterday also and allegedly tried to click photographs at the restricted sites, but left the spot after an altercation with the people. He visited the temple again today and started shouting �Pakistan Zindabad�. He was immediately confronted and thrashed by a group of people present there. He was later taken to the police station for questioning.

Police immediately informed his parents, who revealed that he is mentally challenged and has been involved in such instances before.

No case has been framed against the youth as of now. Further action will be taken after medical examination and observation, police said.
